Phil Ivey has been branded as the best poker player on the globe by most of the top professionals. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and moved to Jersey before his first birthday. His grandfather introduced him to one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was addicted to poker and wanted to learn every little thing he could about the game. He routinely told his parents that he was going to be a professional poker player. He did not permit the detrimental feedback from others destroy his ambition of being one of the strongest poker players in the world.
Phil started playing intently after acquiring a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his techniques at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for him were a teaching experience and coming away with a win wasn’t a regular outcome at the time. He became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he made two final tables and came away with his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the closing table he destroyed a number of the well known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil decided to take his game to the next level and moved out west to Sin City. Phil continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Ivey credits his success to dedication and an eternal love for poker. He says that he is learning every single day and is very humble about his achievements. He admits to making mistakes every single session of poker and always strives to get better.
Although Phil has come first in some big tournaments, he likes destroying money games on a normal basis.
