Let us discover some different types of poker other than holdem, five card stud, 5 card draw and omaha high. Yes, double-hand poker. Now you must be wondering that double-hand sounds a bit Chinese; yes you are correct, this card game is a blending of the Chinese game pai gow and our very own us poker
Clearly this is not one of the highly acclaimed styles of poker but still broadly played. It can be enjoyed by up to seven players. It’s played with 1 deck of cards, plus a joker. Interestingly, the Joker can be used only as an ace, or to complete a straight, a flush, straight flush, or a royal flush. The important detail here to clearly recall is other than the customary ranking of hands we’ve one more winning hand which is "Five Aces" (five aces including the joker). Surprisingly, 5 aces is greater than every other hand including royal flush. Every player is given 7 cards. These cards are arranged to make 2 hands; a two card hand and a five card hand. The 5 card hand has to rank higher or be equivalent to the 2 card hand.
After setting up the two hands, the cards are placed on the table with the faces down. Once down, you are no longer allowed to switch them. The croupier will turn over their cards and make his hands. Every players hand is played against the croupier’s hands. Should the player wins 1 hand and lose the other, this is called a "push" and no money is exchanged. If croupier wins the two hands then the player gives up their wager the opposite is correct if the player wins both hands. Now if the hand is a tie, the dealer wins all. After the hand is played, the very next player clock-wise gets to be the croupier and the following hand is given out.
