Online poker has become globally acclaimed as of late, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game events. The games popularity, though, stretches back in fact a bit farther than its television ratings. Over the years several variants on the original poker game have been developed, including a few games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely related to vingt-et-un than traditional poker, in that the gamblers wager against the bank instead of each other. The winning hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is no conniving or other kinds of bamboozlement. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to ante up before the croupier broadcasting "No more bets." At that point, both you and the dealer and of course every one of the other players are given five cards each. Once you have observed your hand and the bank’s initial card, you need to either make a call wager or bow out. The call wager’s value is on same level to your original wager, indicating that the stakes will have increased two fold. Giving Up means that your wager goes immediately to the bank. After the wager comes the conclusion. If the dealer doesn’t have ace/king or better, your wager is returned, plus an amount on par with the initial bet. If the dealer has a hand with ace/king or greater, you succeed if your hand is greater than the casino’s hand. The house pony’s up cash even with your ante and controlled odds on your call bet. These odds are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for two pairs
  • 3-1 for three of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • twenty to one for a four of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
