Phil Ivey has been labeled as the greatest poker competitor on the planet by most of the top-ranked professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to NJ before reaching turning one. His papa taught Phil penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was hooked on poker and wanted to discover whatever he could about the game. Phil routinely told his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil didn’t permit the adverse comments from other people kill his goal of being one of the strongest poker competitors in the world.
Phil started competing intently after acquiring a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his abilities at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The initial number of years for Phil were a learning opportunity and coming away with a win wasn’t a normal outcome at the time. He became known at the 2000 WSOP where he achieved 2 final tables and came away with his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the last table he destroyed quite a few of the well known professionals including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
He decided to take his game to the next level and moved out west to Las Vegas. Phil continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Ivey credits his achievements to discipline and an undying love for the game of poker. Phil says that he’s picking up skills every day and is quite humble about his success. Phil knows he makes errors every single session of poker and always aspires to improve.
Despite the fact that Phil has won some big-time tournaments, he likes winning cash games on a regular basis.
