Pai Gow Poker is a current game with ancient origins. Founded on the ancient Chinese tile game and the modern American version of poker, Pai Gow poker combines the eastern with the west in a great game for starting gamblers.
Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the gambler against the dealer, not like nearly all other poker games that gamblers wager with other gamblers. By playing against the dealer, beginning players don’t need to fret about any other, more advanced players taking their cash.
A further Pai Gow benefit is the generally slow game play, novices are able to take their time and plan without needing to make frenzied selections.
It is also easier to gamble on for an extended time with basically a little bit of cash since, to lose, each of your hands must be under both of the dealer’s hands.
Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the regular 52-card standard deck and one joker. The player is given 7 cards face up and the croupier gets seven cards face down.
A 5 card hand and one 2 card hand need to be made from the 7 cards dealt, the 5 card hand has to be stronger than the 2 card hand. To win, a player needs both of his hand totals to be higher than the dealer’s.
