Web poker has become globally celebrated lately, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game events. The games universal appeal, though, stretches back quite a bit further than its TV scores. Over the years numerous variations on the original poker game have been created, including a few games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of the above-mentioned games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely related to 21 than long-standing poker, in that the gamblers wager against the house rather than each other. The succeeding hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is little bluffing or different kinds of concealment. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to ante up prior to the dealer declares "No more bets." At that point, both you and the dealer and of course all of the different gamblers receive 5 cards. After you have seen your hand and the casino’s initial card, you need to either make a call wager or surrender. The call wager’s amount is akin to your original bet, indicating that the risks will have increased two fold. Abandoning means that your wager goes instantly to the dealer. After the bet is the conclusion. If the casino does not have ace/king or better, your bet is returned, plus an amount equal to the original bet. If the casino does have ace/king or greater, you succeed if your hand beats the casino’s hand. The casino pony’s up chips equal to your initial bet and set expectations on your call bet. These expectations are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for two pairs
  • 3-1 for three of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • twenty to one for a four of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
